Harpy 2.1
2004-3-9
In my Literature Seminar, we were reading the Tempest by Shakespeare. In the play, a sprite, Arial, visits some characters in the form of a harpy. A harpy is half woman, half bird with wings and talons. I was inspired by my teacher's description of the creature. This model was folded from 10" American foil.
My first attempt was... acceptable? but the body was quite fat. I wanted a very feminine look. After a few studies in female heads, I grafted it onto my first attempt. This was the result. The legs need to be longer, and five talons would be nice, but I think it turned out well.
