I found this beetle in France. The antennae need to be longer to be true to the insect and I plan on fixing that. The key to the development of this model is that the abdomen comes from the center of the paper but allows just enough paper to be wrapped around the outside for a color change. This model was folded from 10" Michael LaFosse's Origamido paper.

Dividing one half of the paper into sixteenths... :) Notice how the edge of the lowest octagon just touches the edge of the paper? This can be used for a color-change...
